Penfield CognitiveMeasure cognition. Understand variation.
Penfield Cognitive is a research-grade adaptive assessment built to estimate general cognitive ability and domain-level performance (reasoning, memory, speed and control) with transparent uncertainty.
It is measurement research, not a diagnosis: every result is an estimate with a likely range, reported against age-matched reference populations that improve through ongoing norming and validation.
The assessment
adapts to you.
Each response selects the next item’s difficulty: correct answers lead to harder items, incorrect ones adjust downward, until the measurement stabilises. Fewer wasted questions, tighter confidence intervals.
Quick estimate.
Complete profile.
Two modes: a ten-to-fifteen-minute Quick assessment estimating general cognitive ability, or the thirty-five-to-fifty-minute Complete assessment producing a full domain profile.
Each response selects the next item’s difficulty. The band narrows as measurement precision stabilises.

Every score is an estimate with a likely range, not a fixed value, a diagnosis, or a clinical measurement. Values shown are demonstration data.
Demonstration data on an illustrative reference sample. Real scores carry confidence intervals. The assessment is normed and validated over time.

Fluid Reasoning
Matrices, abstract relationships, sequences and novel rules.
Visual–Spatial
Mental rotation, spatial assembly and geometric relationships.
Working Memory
Sequence recall, manipulation and updating tasks.
Quantitative
Numerical relationships, pattern reasoning and mathematical logic.
Verbal Reasoning
Analogies, conceptual relationships and vocabulary-based reasoning.
Processing Speed
Rapid discrimination, matching and simple timed decisions.
Attention / Control
Interference, task switching and sustained attention.
All items are original and calibrated continuously. Each carries difficulty, discrimination, validity and fairness metadata, reviewed before it scores.

Scores compare against appropriate age-matched reference populations, normed and validated over time across age, language, education and device. Items are monitored for bias; voluntary repeat testing studies reliability. Participation in research is always optional and de-identified. Results are never withheld from people who decline. Cognitive is not a clinical diagnosis, a personality test, or a replacement for professionally administered assessment. Reference Fusion Model
